Almost ready to fly semi-scale model (1600 mm wingspan) of a Czech-Italian STOL „adventourist“ aeroplane. Made of carbon-reinforced expanded polyolefin (EPO); KAVAN C3548-800 brushless motor, 10x6” three blade prop, R-50SB Plus ESC and 6 micro servos installed. “Full house“ aileron, flap (w. coupled slats), elevator, rudder and throttle control; steerable tailwheel, LED lights. For 4S LiPo 2600–3300mAh (at least 30C) battery.

The EPO foam fuselage, thoroughly carbon-reinforced, comes with the KAVAN C3548-8050 brushless motor, 10×6” three-blade propeller and KAVAN R-50SB Plus ESC featuring a powerful switching SBEC stabilizer necessary to feed all 6 servos aboard. The battery compartment (under a removable hatch in the nose) offers a lot of space for your flight pack.

The two-piece EPO wing is reinforced by carbon spars and joined together with a carbon tube joiner. The wing is secured by bolts to the fuselage. The ailerons and flaps (with coupled slats on the leading edge) are controlled by two pairs of servos installed in the wing driven with short wire push rods; there are navigation LED lights installed as well. The easy-to-install composite wing struts are secured with a pair of wire clips.

The empennage is made of the EPO foam. The elevator and rudder servos are installed in the fuselage.

The main undercarriage has aluminium alloy legs with scale spring struts; the steel wire tailwheel is coupled with the rudder.

Norden is powered by the KAVAN C3548-800 brushless motor with the KAVAN R-50SB Plus 50A ESC.

You will need a 14.8V 2600–3300mAh flight pack (at least 30C) to fly your Norden.

You will need at least a 6-channel RC set to control your Norden; even a non-computer radio would work as the aileron, flap, rudder and elevator servos are controlled by a single channel each (linked via the pre-installed connection board). At least a 7-channel computer radio will work best; an independent aileron and flap servo control will help you enjoy your Norden to the fullest. Fortunately, even entry-level/budget-friendly radios like  FRSKY X14 or X18 feature all the necessary mixes today. In this case, you will have to connect the aileron and flap servos directly (you can use our optional bypass cable set). The instruction manual contains a thoroughly tested set-up table in order to help you set up the Norden easily even if it is your first “full house” control aeroplane.

Will I tame it?

Yes, you will. It only takes a few minutes to build. By default, the convenient connection board combines the flap and aileron functions for even ordinary six-channel radios. The board can be bypassed with reduction cables for independent control. The manual provides proven deflection settings, so you can easily get to grips even if you are just starting out with the larger models with full wing mechanisation.

  • Truly STOL features: Unique double-slotted flaps, plus leading edge slats, enable high-pressure air to flow through the wing, increasing lift and effective drag. This allows you to take off and land at really short distances, and enjoy slow passes and small radius turns.

Comfortable off-road footwear: The large balloon wheels cushion even larger bumps on the landing area. They are mounted on a robust duralumin chassis with scale spring struts. The tail wheel is coupled to the rudder. So your airfield is absolutely anywhere you want it.

Electronics take care of the rest: In the nose behind the 10×6" three-bladed propeller is a C3548-800 brushless motor. It's controlled from the spacious bowels under a removable cover by a 50A KAVAN R-50SB Plus ESC with a powerful BEC, which manages the 6 servos on board. You'll get the juice to the drive from a 4S LiPo power pack with a 2600-3300 mAh capacity and a load capacity of at least 30C.

What about dimensions and colours? The wingspan is 1600 mm, the length is 1275 mm and this gives a wing area of 44.3 dm². The result is a calm and stable aircraft with perfect control authority at all speeds. With the propulsion battery you can fit in a weight of 2400 g. Two colour schemes are available: the already well-known KAVAN blue shades or the "bush" design in nature colours.
